CI-500
The CI-500 is a compact photosynthesis measurement system, that can be operated as an open or close system. Also, it can be used for measure canopy photosynthesis. The sampling chamber is directly connected to the gas analyzer, avoiding the gas transportation from the chamber to the analyzer.
CI-500 system
With the CI-500 several plant parameters can be measured; like photosynthesis rate, chlorophyll fluorescence, transpiration, stomatal conductance, and internal leaf CO2 concentration.
Responses curves to CO2, light, temperature, and H2O can be obtained from the CI-500. It can be programed to control CO2 concentration from 0 to 2000 ppm, light from 0 to 3000 umol m-2 s-1 (by a LED red light source), temperature from -25o to +50oC of the ambient temperature, and H2O from 0 to 100%.
For measure CO2 and H2O, CI-500 gas analyzer utilizes four cells. Calibration to zero and span are not needed for the analyzer. The noise level for CO2 is 0.1 ppm and 0.005 kPa for H2O.
OPERATION
For the CI-500 operation as an open or close system, 12 different chambers are available. Leaf temperature (by infrared sensor), PAR sensors, and chamber temperature control can be adapted to each of the 12 chambers. Optional devices are soil respiration chamber and chlorophyll fluorescence sensor.
CI-500 open and closed chambers
From CI-500 data storage, information can be loaded into computer, or be programed by the user for specific calibration curves. When is connected to a computer, CI-500 can display graphically or digitally each of the 15 different measurements.
