STEP BY STEP DOWNLOADING USER
INSTRUCTIONS

These instructions are highly modified and are not meant to
replace the detailed instructions and information in the 530 DR
Hydroprobe CPN operating
manual.
- Go wherever you download the data. Click for Hardware
Connections.
- Before downloading the data from the neutron probe, download and "run"
a communication software program on your computer to accept the data.
We have
provided a communication software program written for DOS that may be
downloaded to your
computer
from this
document by clicking on NEUT-PRB.EXE.
- When the computer screen reads SAVE AS, download the program
files to your hard-drive or a disk. Create a FILE, NAME IT, Put the file
in a DIRECTORY. At the
DOS prompt c:> ,"Run" the NEUT-PRB.EXE file before using it the
first time. Use
the name of your file or use the name
NEUT-PRB to "run" [or "open"] the program, then press the ENTER key
on the computer keyboard.
- In the Directory at your FILE NAME prompt, type EDIT
README.DOC. Written
instructions on how to proceed with the connections from the probe to your
computer appear.
- At the
DOS prompt c:> , you will type in the directory you have the file
saved in, then DUMBTERM, then the file name and the file
type that you want the neutron probe data written to. (To reinterate: This
information is
explained in the DUMBTERM communication software and can be obtained under the "Readme.doc" name and opened with an editor.)
- To download the data from the probe to the computer: Press
PRINT, then Press ENTER. The data should appear on the
computer screen. If not check the "readme" information to make sure
you are in the com1 link. Also, check to see if the probe is in the
lp mode.
- PRESS ALT-Q to complete/finish the transfer.
