242 g Tris base
57.1 ml glacial acetic acid
37.2 g Na₂EDTA 2H₂O (EDTA: Ethylenediaminetetraacetic Acid)
Bring the solution to 1 liter with deionized (DD) H₂O
To prepare a working solution dilute the the stock solution to 1x (i.e, to prepare 100 ml of working solution take 2 ml of the stock solution and bring them to 100 ml with DD H₂O), and adjust pH to 8.5.

TAE buffer
Stock solution (10x)
108 g Tris base
55 g of boric acid
40 ml 0.5 Molar EDTA, pH 8.0
To prepare a working solution dilute the the stock solution to 1x (i.e, to prepare 100 ml of working solution take 10 ml of the stock solution and bring them to 100 ml with DD H₂O).
