NuMex BR 1
  • Plant September 25
  • Harvest May 25 to June 5
  • Largely replaced by other varieties, but still grown by some producers

Yellow Grano type. Somewhat variable in shape. Has darker scale than NuMex SUNLITE. Tends to be larger and softer that NuMex SUNLITE. Pink root tolerance not as good as NuMex SUNLITE. NuMex BR 1 has been largely replaced by other varieties, but it is still a favorite of some growers. Should be planted on time and provided optimum conditions for growth during the winter for maturity by June 5, and for highest yield and quality.
