NuMex STARLITE
|
Yellow Grano type. Matures about a week later than NuMex STARLITE. It has very large tops, and has the potential to produce very large bulbs and high yields. Released to extend the harvest season for "grano" type onions, and to provide a low pungency variety that can be marketed as 'sweet' onions. Because of its later maturity, NuMex STARLITE usually produces high yields and large bulbs when transplanted. In NMSU tests, NuMex STARLITE has been the best yielding of any of the 'grano' type onions, either from direct seed in the fall or from transplants. It has excellent tolerance to pink root.
